Yellen spent over 10 hours in meetings with Chinese officials. Discussion were wide-ranging on economic and also politically issues.

Yellen said the meetings were “direct” and “productive”, helping stabilise rocky relations and that while the United States and China remained at odds on a number of issues, her visit had advanced efforts to put the relationship on “surer footing”.
