After three straight months of worsening sentiment, euro area investor confidence surprisingly improved in August. Germany is acknowledged as being the “sick man” of the region at the moment but investors are seeing a more positive outlook on inflation. That is helping the overall mood to move into a better direction but with the Eurozone still likely headed for a recession, it’s hardly too comforting.
