The verdict is that Le Pen will be deemed ineligible to be elected to public office, though the duration is unknown. But if confirmed, I reckon it should be the five-year ban as per what the offense would carry. This means she will be ruled out from running in 2027.

Just when you thought the political scene in France/Europe would find some stability, we get this bombshell.

That being said, expect Le Pen to file a constitutional appeal on this. But in the meantime, it brings back more political mess in France after the events last year.

Update: The French court has confirmed that Le Pen is to receive an immediate ban from public office. But in the sentence, there’s no wording yet if the ban is to run through to 2027. So far, reports are saying that she is sentenced to “ineligibility” but that’s one that goes along with all the other officials involved. Still waiting on the official ruling of the duration for now.
