Trump signals a climb-down on immigration enforcement | Forexlive

Trump is out with a new message on immigration that signals that he’s not looking to deport illegal immigrants who have followed the law. This is in contrast to some of the reports lately — particularly in California — of a mass roundup of all illegal immigrants.

Trump wrote:

Our great Farmers and people in the Hotel and Leisure business have been
stating that our very aggressive policy on immigration is taking very
good, long time workers away from them, with those jobs being almost
impossible to replace. In many cases the Criminals allowed into our
Country by the VERY Stupid Biden Open Borders Policy are applying for
those jobs. This is not good. We must protect our Farmers, but get the
CRIMINALS OUT OF THE USA. Changes are coming!

There are real economic impacts here as big parts of the US economy like the ones he highlighted are heavily-dependent on low-wage illegal immigrant workers. Others are construction, food processing, maintenance and childcare.
