The U.S. Treasury announces the coupon auctions for next week | investingLive
The U.S. Treasury has announced the auction schedule or coupon issues next week. The treasury will sell
- $69 billion of 2 -year notes
- $70 billion in 5 year notes.
- $44 billion of 7 year notes.
Of note, is that the 2 and 5-year note auctions will take place on Monday. The 7-year note auction will take place on Tuesday. The frontloading at the start of the week is because of the FOMC rate decision at 2 PM on Wednesday. The Fed does not like to auction off issues ahead of that rate decision.
Looking at the US debt market, yields today are higher with the shorter end moving up the most:
- 2 year notes 3.926%, +4.3 basis points
- 5 year note 3.981%, +4.6 basis points
- 10 year note 4419%, +3.2 basis points
- 30 year note 4.961%, +1.3 basis points.
