Major US stock indices close lower after weaker ISM data | investingLive
The major US stock indices are closing lower on the day after weaker ISM data. This was the lowest level since May.
The final numbers are showing:
- Dow industrial average -61.90 point or -0.14% at 44111.74.
- S&P index fell -30.77 points or -0.49% at 6299.17.
- NASDAQ index fell -137.03 point or -0.65% at 20916.55.
The small-cap Russell 2000 bucked the trend with a gain of 13.36 points or 0.60% at 2225.67.
Shares of Palantir rose 7.85% today after posting revenues that top $1 billion close beating expectations on the top and bottom lines.
Chips stocks move lower after present Trump hinted of tariffs sooner rather than later.

- Nvidia fell -0.97%
- AMD (which will report shortly after the close) fell -1.40%)
Super Micro Computers announced earnings and revenues below expectations:
- EPS $0.41 versus $0.45 expected
- revenues by $0.8 billion versus expected $6.0 billion.
They did guide higher revenues of $33 billion versus expected $30.3 billion. Shares are trading down -12% in after-hours trading.
AMD announced their earnings and revenues:
- EPS $0.54 versus $0.47 expected
- Revenues $7.69 billion versus $7.4 billion expected
Shares are trading up about 1– 2%.
