The explosion of COVID cases in China in December along with lacklustre global demand is expected to have weighed on China’s exports in December.

Snarls at ports due to worker absences are expected to have also pressured import figures.

The Chinese data is listed at 0300 GMT. Please note that given past experience with trade data out of Japan this is a guide to the release only. Any time around then the numbers could drop.
